Cast and Blast is an
adventure in itself. A pontoon boat takes hunters, dogs, lunches
and everything that is needed for a wonderful day of hunting
chukars.
|
The boat ride alone
is worth the trip because of the magnificent scenery.
While looking for chukars,
fishing for bass and trout, either casting or fly fishing is
available. Hundreds of thousands of acres are accessible only
by water.

|
Much of the land is
flat and provides for easy walking. The Cast & Blast hunting
is done along beautiful ravines where flushing dogs work best.
Once chukars are spotted,
the boat immediately goes to shore, and hunters and dogs are
out in a couple of seconds. Birds are hunted and shot and the
dogs then retrieve the birds. There are numerous long, gradual,
wide plateaus where hunters and pointing dogs are dropped off
and then picked up approximately 3/4 to 1 mile downstream.

Bully
Creek Reservoir
borders the north side of the ranch, providing excellent fishing
and boating for tourists and ranch visitors alike.
- Non-pressured land
- Land is privately owned / leased
- Many hundreds of acres only accessible by water.

A hunting experience
at Flying Double F Ranch is for sportsmen. The ranch is not a
preserve and all birds are wild and are a challenge to hit. To
prevent over-hunting of the land, owner, Jim
Farmer, allows
hunts only three times one week and two times the next.
The Ranch is comprised
of land that has very little hunting pressure. Most land is privately
owned/leased. Many thousand of acres are accessible only by water.
In cooperation with the Oregon Fish & Game Department, Flying
Double F has successfully reintroduced Bobwhite quail to the
ranch through Conservation practices and expects to have a limited
hunting season for 2005.
Space is limited. Make reservations now.
